A snowscoot is a machine made up of a frame, two boards that are similar to snowboards, a fork and handlebars to steer the front board. The back board is fixed to the frame and the front one is fixed to the fork.

The frame is like a reinforced scooter frame. The front board  is articulated and steered by handlebars and a bracket on the extension of a specific fork that pivots in the frame's steering column. The snowscoot's two boards are different lengths and widths. The boards are fairly similar to snowboards in design and appearance.

As in all snow sports, there are different shapes and sizes that turn differently and have different stability. Of course the boards offer different levels of quality, according to how they were put together, the base, etc.

They were designed to be used on the ski lifts. The user is upright, with his feet often in foot straps, although not all models have these. He can move his feet backwards and forwards about 40 cm. Most resorts require you to use a leash type system that attaches the snowscoot to its driver, usually by his foot.
