Telemark comes from Norway. It is certainly not a new form of skiing, but is actually one of the original ways to ski.
A telemark turn was the first turn made on skis. To make the turn, you have to bend one knee and take the weight off your heels. This is why the telemarkers' motto is: "light heels, light spirit".
Don't hesitate to give this elegant discipline a try. You can book private lessons with an instructor to learn, to improve or to try some off-piste...
