Ourson     
First experience of skis and skiing during a week in the ski garden
     

Flocon    
Learning to"snake" down in snowplough turns around 4 or 5 poles. Easy, nordic-style course. Skiing straight downhill.
     

1st Star    
Skiing across the slope. Skiing down the slope then step turns on a gentle slope. Series of 7 or 8 snowplough turns bringing skis back to parallel in between on a marked out course.

2nd Star   
Elementary sideslip turns on a moderate slope. Step turns uphill. Technical descent on a moderate slope using basic evolution-type turns around 7 or 8 poles.

3rd Star   
Slalom assessed on quality of parallel turns (not timed). Skiing down the fall line finishing with a braking side slip. Basic garland with skis parallel.


Bronze Star   
Slalom assessed on quality of parallel turns (not timed). Skiing down the fall line finishing with a braking side slip. Basic garland with skis parallel.
     

 
Gold Star  
Timed giant slalom. Technical progress: long and short turns, little jumps.
     
 
 
 
 
 
INTERNATIONAL TESTS

Adult Tests

1st Ski   
Becoming familiar with the equipment and the snow. Keeping balance on smooth terrain on a gentle slope. Controlling speed on a snaking trajectory.
     

1st Degree   
Going down using elementary turns on a gentle to moderate slope. Basic turning sideslip. Step turns uphill.

2nd Degree   
Skiing down with basic parallel turns. Skiing straight down the fall line on a moderate slope. Starting to use edges. Skating step.

3rd Degree   
Going down with perfect turns. Skiing down the fall line on a steep slope. Amplitude and finesse of the vertical movement. Perfect high-speed turn.
 
 
 
 SNOWBOARD
Beginner   
Do a Nordic-style course with only one foot in the bindings. Turn over sitting down & get up again. Elementary straight downhill.
     

1st Surf   
Slow down using basic turns. Stop. Go down doing basic turns. Side slip using falling leaf.

2nd Surf   
Jump while going down the fall line. Go down using short turns. Link basic turns.

3rd Surf   
Go down using fakie turns or 180° ollie. Reproduce a series of movements. Do short turns on a steep slope.
